Couple PFP Privacy Policy

Couple PFP is a service for browsing matching profile-picture pairs and saving or sharing selected images. This policy explains the information the service receives when you use the Couple PFP mobile or web application (the “App”).

Information you provide

Depending on the features you use, the service may receive:

• Your name, email address, and password when you create an account. Passwords are stored as a hash rather than as the password you enter.
• Email verification and password-recovery codes used to secure your account.
• Reports, feedback, education-access requests, or other support messages, including the name, email address, institution, and message details you choose to provide.
• Images, titles, credits, licences, and source links when you submit a matching pair for review. Submitted pairs remain pending until approved.
• Purchase identifiers and purchase-verification data when you buy or restore Couple PFP Pro access.

Google sign-in is handled through Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In when you choose that sign-in method. The App receives the authentication result needed to create or access your Couple PFP account.

Browsing and device storage

You can browse the catalog as a guest. Favorites, download history, preferences, cached catalog details, and preview images may be stored locally on your device or in browser storage. Guest favorites stay on that device. When you use an account, favorites can be synchronized with the service.

Saving an image writes a copy to the location selected through your operating system or browser. Clearing the App cache or download history does not remove copies already saved to your gallery, downloads folder, or another service. Sharing sends the selected image to the destination you choose through the system share interface.

Service activity and network data

The service receives requests needed to load catalog content, search and filter pairs, record favorites, count views and successful downloads, authenticate accounts, process reports, and verify membership access. It stores aggregate view, download, and interaction counts for catalog pairs. To reduce repeated guest view counts, a temporary hashed key may be derived from an account identifier or from the request IP address and user-agent information.

The hosting service may process ordinary request and security information, such as IP address, user-agent, timestamps, and error details, to operate and protect the API. Do not include passwords, payment details, or unnecessary personal information in feedback or reports.

Notifications and device registration

If the App registers a device for notifications, the service may store the notification token together with the app identifier and the device/app details you provide, such as device type, model, operating-system version, and app version. This supports notifications and delivery troubleshooting. Notification controls are available in the App and in your device settings where supported.

How we use information

We use information to:

• create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, and recover access;
• provide the catalog, favorites synchronization, downloads, comments, reports, and creator features;
• review submitted pairs and respond to feedback, education requests, and support messages;
• verify purchases, restore access, and maintain membership records;
• send requested notifications and protect the service from abuse; and
• diagnose errors, maintain security, and improve reliability.

Purchases and memberships

Couple PFP Pro purchases are completed through the applicable app-store billing flow. The App sends the product identifier and purchase-verification information to the service so that access can be checked and associated with your account. The store processes payment details; Couple PFP does not receive your full payment-card number. Store cancellation, renewal, and refund controls are managed by the applicable store. Deleting a Couple PFP account does not cancel a store subscription.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We use service providers needed to operate the App, including hosting, email delivery, Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, and app-store billing and verification. Information may be disclosed when necessary to provide those services, protect the App and its users, comply with law, or respond to a valid legal process.

Account deletion and requests

You can request account deletion from the App's account settings. The deletion flow disables the account, revokes sessions, replaces identifying profile fields, and removes account email-code records. An anonymized identity reference and records needed for billing, approved content, reports, feedback, security, or legal obligations may remain. Copies of images that you saved, downloaded, or shared are not removed from your device or from destinations you chose.

Artwork and user submissions

Catalog records may include source, licence, creator credit, and image descriptions. Review the displayed source and licence information before using an image. If you submit a pair, you must have the right to submit it and should provide accurate attribution. We may review, reject, or remove submissions that do not meet the service's content or rights requirements.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at the address above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App or its data practices change. The updated version will be published at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
